Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will begin offering censored TV or "unfun" versions of its movies as part of a Clean Version initiative, which includes the first five Spider-Man movies: Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, Amazing Spider-Man, and Amazing Spider-Man 2. As part of this initiative, it's clear that Spider-Man 3 will not be included as no version of that film can be deemed inoffensive.

"The Clean Version allows viewing for a wider audience, giving people the chance to watch their favorite films together," an unnamed Sony spokesperson told Variety. "Clean Version movies can be accessed with purchase of the theatrical versions."

While his films aren't included in the program, Seth Rogen spoke out against the program.

The first 24 movies included in the program are:

  • 50 First Dates
  • Battle Of The Year
  • Big Daddy
  • Captain Phillips
  • Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
  • Easy A
  • Elysium
  • Ghostbusters
  • Ghostbusters II
  • Goosebumps
  • Grown Ups
  • Grown Ups 2
  • Hancock
  • Inferno
  • Moneyball
  • Pixels
  • Spider-Man
  • Spider-Man 2
  • Spider-Man 3
  • The Amazing Spider-Man
  • The Amazing Spider-Man 2
  • Step Brothers
  • Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
  • White House Down
