Legendary's sequel to 2014's Godzilla is officially in production in Atlanta, Georgia, Collider reports. Though the sequel previously had been given the title Godzilla: King of Monsters, later corrected to Godzilla: King of the Monsters by its director Michael Dougherty, Collider is not confident that the final title has been decided upon.

At any rate, with production underway, the fine folks at Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have provided an official synopsis of the film. That synopsis has confirmed what was teased previously at 2014's San Diego Comic-Con's Legendary panel and by the post-credits scene in Kong: Skull Island; some familiar kaiju will once again hit the big screen in the US:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah.  When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

All right, now we're talking. Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah first appeared together in Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964), but never did in an American produced movie.

Even though ace monster reporter Zechs is too busy re-watching the latest episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic to report this, he did wanted to provide one message for the article: "Let. Them. Fight."

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (or whatever the final title ends up being) is expected to invade our shores March 22, 2019.
