Marvel's big dawg Kevin Feige and Sony's big dawg Amy Pascal have been doing their own version of The Odd Couple lately in regards to the Spider-Man's spinoffs standings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pascal has said that Spider-Man would not be separate from the Spider-Man spinoff films, which includes the Black Cat/Silver Sable film. Feige then responded with a firm yes, they would be, which made Pascal edit her no response to a kind of.

Meanwhile, Feige was interviewed at the Spider-Man: Homecoming premiere about Spider-Man appearing in the Venom movie, which will star Tom Hardy. Feige stood firm on his answer of no.

Ever the optimist, Pascal told Fandom, "Venom is a character that is closely associated with Spidey and there may be some day where you see them together. You never know."

Due to a co-production agreement between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, Homecoming is a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while the other spinoff films, technically are too, but aren't really.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to release July 7, 2017 and Venom is set to release October 5, 2018.
