Comic-Con International, or San Diego Comic-Con, has decided to not have to edit its logo until at least 2021, as the convention signed a deal to stay in town until then. San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer made the announcement, revealing that the decision relied on persuading local hotels to cap room rates over the term of the contract.

Comic-Con International spokesman David Glanzer weighed in on the lack of space for the convention.

"We have had to cap our attendance for many, many years so our income level is different and we have to be aware of that," he said during a morning news conference outside the center. "But again, with the efforts of the mayor, the Tourism Authority, the hoteliers, we're able to make what we have work."

Attracting more than 130,000 attendees every year, the convention will run Thursday, July 20 through Sunday, July 23. Look for me wandering around with a thousand yard stare, doing my best to avoid getting sick again.
