SDCC: Hasbro To Produce Limited Release Toys Based On Comic Based On Toys

Revolution boxed set to debut at San Diego Comic-Con

Source: First Look: Transformers, G.I. Joe, and M.A.S.K. Unite In Hasbro's Revolution Toy Package

Last Year IDW combined several of their Hasbro related properties in their Revolution  event and live in the same comic universe. Now all of those properties, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Micronauts, Rom, Action Man, M.A.S.K., plus one more (sorry Zechs, not My Little Pony) Visionaries are getting toys in a new boxed set. Several of these properties have not had new original toy representations in decades. The boxed set, the Revolution Comic Crossover Mega-Set, will debut debut at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), but will also be available Fan Expo Canada, and in limited-supply via HasbroToyShop.com (good luck with that).

So what's in the box? Well the cover to the box gives you a hint…

Opening the cover to the box, shows you that the characters depicted on the box (sorry no M.A.S.K. Thunderhawk in the box) are inside…

Here's a brief rundown of what's inside:

Representing the Transformers is Autobot Jetfire. This toy looks more like his cartoon form than the old toy that looked like a Valkyrie VF-1S from another cartoon.

Roadblock is here for his G.I. Joe crew:

Matt Trakker from M.A.S.K. has his mask, but not his car in this set:

Action Man, Ian Noble, has an action figure in this box too:

It's been a while (30+ years?) since 'ol toaster head got a new toy, but ROM is back with his neutralizer:

Also from the ROM universe, is the updated IDW version of the villainous Dire Wraith:

Micronauts get a bunch of tiny figures in the box, both good and bad. Here are Oberon, the Membros named Xant, space glider Phenelo-Phi, and Biotron:

More from Micronauts -- time traveler Quin-Tillus and Acroyear:

The last bunch from Micronauts are eeeevil, Gammatron, Baron Karza, and Betatron:

Visionaries wasn't represented in Revolution, but the knight with the magical light, Leoric, is in this set:

The Dire Wraiths have mages an with the world of the Visionaries now included, it takes another step into the magical ralm. Could friendship be far behind? Maybe next year Zechs!

The Revolution Comic Crossover Mega-Set will retail for $99.99. SDCC is from July 20-23 and Fan Expo Canada runs August 31-September 3.
