Marvel Changes The Industry Again By Not Releasing Legacy Solicitations Today (Updated With Solicits)

That we know of anyway, but there are covers for Spirits of Vengeance and U.S. Avengers

Marvel  changed the industry again today, by breaking with their drip drip of Marvel Legacy solicitation releases today, by not releasing any of them despite having a lot more to dish out. There was some Marvel Legacy coverage today though with interviews about two titles on Nerdist, and a preview of their non-lenticular covers.

Though there was a previous Spirits of Vengeance title, the Marvel Legacy Spirits of Vengeance title is not going back to its original numbering. The new series will be written by Victor Gischler, with art by David Baldeon, and covers by Mark Texeira.

Gischler says he wants to have the same "vibe" as the older series, but updated for today. The new (not all Ghost Rider) team consists of Daimon Hellstrom, Satana, Blade, and Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze. The writer promises other characters will appear that people haven't seen before, including a new character he created for the book. The first issue title for the book will be "War At The Gates Of Hell".

Nerdist also took a look at the current state of the U.S. Avengers book. While most of the article was an article about the U.S. Avengers going up against the Secret Empire, writer Al Ewing did touch on the team during Marvel Legacy. Ewing said that there may be more "heavy" pieces when Legacy arrives (though it does seem it will still be mostly light-hearted) and also:

"… some HYDRA-smashing action, a major upending of the status quo for at least a couple of characters, a brand new Supreme Leader of A.I.M., a quest to the depths of space, a mysterious American suburb that’s a million light years from Earth, the terrible secret of Bugface Brown… and much, much more"

It would seem that series artist Paco Medina is staying on, and U.S. Avengers #11 sports a cover by David Nakayama.

UPDATE (07/12) -- here's the two solicitations:

A dead angel. A silver bullet. A kept promise. For ages, the war between Heaven and Hell raged in the unseen corners of society, both sides in delicate balance that could topple if the right weapons were in the wrong hands… When an undercover angel is murdered, Johnny Blaze, the Ghost Rider, must find the killers and punish them…But this time he won’t do it alone: A deadly team must rise from the darkest depths of the Marvel Universe to form an unholy alliance – HELLSTORM! SATANA! BLADE! They are the SPIRITS OF VENGEANCE!

The U.S. Avengers have a new mission—to find their missing teammate! Squirrel Girl, Red Hulk, Iron Patriot, and more head into outer space to find Cannonball! The search leads them to strangest planet of all...Glenbrook, U.S.A.! Home — and fiefdom — of Ritchie Redwood, America’s best loved teen! What shocking events will lead the U.S. Avengers to uncover the secrets of the seemingly idyllic planet of Glenbrook whose teenagers keep disappearing? And how will this lead them to Cannonball?
