'Galaga' Animated Series In The Works

How many quarters will it take to produce that?

Galaga was the 1981 follow up to the popular 1979 arcade shooter Galaxian by Namco (licensed by Midway in the West). In the game you go up against a wave after wave of bug-like creatures in your trusty spaceship. You might have caught a reference to the game in the first Avengers movie. Now, the production  company The Nuttery Entertainment has made an agreement with the creators of Galaga (now Bandai Namco) to create characters and stories in that world.

Galaga Chronicles is one product that will arise from this agreement. This is planned to be an animated series by The Nuttery Entertainment's animation studio Assorted Nuts. Bandai Namco excutive officer Hirotaka Watanabe says of the animated series:

"While the re-imagining of the game into animation will be unique and, for the first time in Galaga’s history, story- and character-based, there is also a great respect for its history."

Galaga related projects are planned for multiple platformed. No timeframe was announced for the release of Galaga Chronicles.
