Soon Marvel Will Have You Draw Your Own Comics

Chip Zdarsky will teach you how to draw 20 different characters through variants.

Marvel Comics trademarked a line of "Color Your Own" comics in 2015, with DC releasing "Adult Coloring Books" variant covers in 2016. It was only a matter of time until one of the two got the idea for "Draw Your Own" comics and Marvel has taken the first step in that direction with a line of variant covers that teach readers how to draw Marvel characters.

Marvel will release 20 variant covers by Chip Zdarsky this fall, all featuring a cover showing how to draw a character in only six steps. Zdarsky's "How To Draw" first appeared on the back of a blank variant cover for Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #1 in June.

The first five variant covers have been revealed for All-New Guardians of The Galaxy #11Black Panther #166Captain Marvel #125Daredevil #27, and Gwenpool, The Unbelievable #21.

The issues with unreleased covers are All New Wolverine #25Cable #150, Champions #13Defenders #6Falcon #1Hawkeye #11, Invincible Iron Man #593Mighty Thor #700, Punisher: The Platoon #1Royals #9Spider-Gwen #25Spirits of Vengeance #1, The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #25Venom #155, and X-Men: Gold #13.
