Studio 8 Options Black Mask Studios' Black For Big Screen

Black sees a nation where only African-Americans have superpowers.

Studio 8, the production company founded by former Warner Bros. head Jeff Robinov, has optioned Black from Black Mask Studios. Studio 8 EVP Creative Jon Silk brought the project into the fold and will oversee its development with executive Rishi Rajani.

Black's premise is of a nation where only African-Americans have superpowers. Co-created and designed by Tim Smith 3, written by Kwanza Osajyefo, and drawn by Jamal Igle, Black's series six-issue run recently wrapped. Smith and Osajyefo will both co-produce alongside Black Mask's co-founder and Outhouse rival Matt Pizzolo.
