The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) won't be showing up for the big throwdown in Avengers: Infinity War (and similarly wasn't invited to Captain America: Civil War), but that isn't stopping Lilly from promoting the character. We got a peek at the Wasp suit in Ant-Man's mid-credits scene, and was shown the concept art of the suit from a concept art poster for the film, but we haven't seen the "real" thing. Well, until today.
Lilly took the opportunity of Jack Kirby's 100th birthday to tweet out a little something about the inspiration of her movie character, one that Kirby had a hand in for the comic character's Tales to Astonish #44 debut. Take a look:
While the preview is just the bodysuit portion of the costume (no helmet), the basic structure of the suit looks similar to what we saw in the mid-credits scene in Ant-Man. The "real thing" though is less colorful, lacking the lighter colored chest and abdomen plates that were in the previous version and the concept art. Perhaps that will come along later?
What do you think of the Wasp costume? We'll find out what the final look will be maybe in some trailers, but certainly in movie. Ant-Man and the Wasp flies into theaters July 6, 2018.
