Mitchell will play Ganeida, an elder witch.

Penelope Mitchell has joined Neil Marshall's Hellboy reboot as Ganeida, an elder witch who has decided that Nimue's wrath has gone on for too long and must be stopped. The film was written by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, and Aron Coleite.

The movie came under fire recently for the casting of Ed Skrein as B.P.R.D. Agent Ben Daimio, a Japanese-American. Skrein has since stepped down from the role, following the backlash.

The Hellboy reboot, formerly titled Hellboy: Rise Of The Blood Queen, is directed by Marshall, and stars David Harbour as Hellboy, Ian McShane as Trevor Bruttenholm, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, and Milla Jovovich as The Blood Queen. The film, which is shooting for an R rating, is set to film this fall for a 2018 release.
