Happy Force Friday II, on this hallowed day we have a little bit of news from one of the Star Wars-related movies currently in production. It looks like the still untitled Han Solo spin-off movie is adding to their cast after the exit of Michael Kenneth Williams last month. Unfortunately the new cast member is not a person of color, but fortunately it is a person genre fans know: Paul Bettany.
Ron Howard and Paul Bettany
He later made it clearer that Bettany wasn't just visiting the set, but was working in the film:
It's my third opportunity to work with Paul. He's a blast & so talented https://t.co/8AQn0jFzOh— Ron Howard (@RealRonHoward) September 1, 2017
As noted in that tweet, Howard has worked with Bettany before, on A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code. If the troubled production stays on schedule, Bettany will be in two big movies that month, as he reprises his role as Vision in Avengers: Infinity War, which also opens in May 2018. Bettany's role in Han Solo wasn't detailed and it was not confirmed (or not) if his role is related to Williams', but /Film reports that it is.
The yet to be titled Han Solo film is currently scheduled to jump to theaters May 25, 2018.
