Marvel, via Hasbro's Playskool brand, already has a line of toys for the preschool set called Playskool Heroes  Marvel Super Hero Adventures. Well, it looks like Marvel wants to expand that brand starting this Fall. This expansion will include cartoon shorts, publications, apparel, and toys.

The Marvel Super Hero Adventures brand will feature:

… stories that touch upon aspirational themes of friendship, helping others, and heroism

In other words, nothing like the current Marvel Universe. Oddly, Marvel intends this youth-targeted initiative to be a "gateway" to the Marvel Universe. Imagine their shock when they read the monthly titles…

September will bring new chapter books to the mix of already existing Marvel Super Hero Adventures activity books and storybooks from Marvel Press. The first chapter book will be "Deck the Malls!" written by MacKenzie Cadenhead and Sean Ryan, with illustrations by Derek Laufman featuring Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen.

Three more chapter books will hit the shelves and an expanded publishing program will go through 2018 and beyond.

The Marvel Super Hero Adventures toy line will expand with more figures and vehicles including the following:

A series of 10 animated shorts (around 3.5 minutes) are also on the way. Marvel previously had a series of kid-centric cartoons with Marvel Super Hero Squad, but Marvel Super Hero Adventures is aiming a bit younger than that show. Here's how Marvel describes the upcoming shorts:

Marvel Animation will launch a season of 10 short-form episodes for the pre-school audience. The 3.5 minute animated episodes will feature Spidey in an epic team-up with other inspiring and brave Marvel heroes like Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Wasp, Ms. Marvel and more. Platforms and launch date for this short-form series will be announced at a later date.
