IDW Addresses G.I. Joe Writer's 9/11 Twitter Controversy!

Writer for the IDW G.I. Joe comic writer Aubrey Sitterson made some controversial 9/11 tweets a few days ago, and IDW has responded in kind.

Just a few days ago, G.I. Joe and Scarlet's Strike Force (maybe? This news kind of puts this in doubt doesn't it?) writer Aubrey Sitterson made some rather controversial tweets on 9/11 and afterward defending his position:

Suffice to say, some G.I. Joe fan groups weren't too proud of those tweets and began voicing their distaste for the writer's opinions (one, in particular, YoJoe.com has said on their Facebook page they will not endorse IDW comics until Sitterson is fired):

Thus far, IDW has been supportive of the writer (as shown by Bleeding Cool via a PR post a few days ago). That changed today when IDW tweeted out this out:

Now, I haven't been following IDW-verse given A.) No Cobra Commander (which was going to change apparently) and B.) G.I. Joe: Real American Hero is the Joe-flavor I favor most when it come's to Joe side of IDW. But this sounds to me that said preview we saw before isn't ever going to see the light of day and the ongoing might be seeing a new direction.

We'll let you know further as this story continues to progress since IDW's December solicitations will be due out next week. If say a suspicious absence of Scarlett's Strike Force shows up. We'll let you know.
