Marvel Decides One Venom Event Isn't Edgy Enough! Enter: Venom Inc.!

The event will begin with Venom Inc. Alpha #1 (why are we back to alpha issues again?) and then crossover into Amazing Spider-Man and Venom. Why? Why is this a thing?

Currently, if you're still reading Marvel Comics (I wouldn't blame you if you've given up on them like some have), we have a Venom event crossover (but not really) comic going on called Edge of the Venomverse (basically like the Spiderverse crossover, but now with the Venom symbiotes and CARNAGE). Still, this event crossover isn't edgy enough for Marvel it seems as they've just announced that they will be following up Venom event crossover with ANOTHER Venom event crossover comic! CBR was given the exclusive to so for one hour we'd be spared another awful list articles from them.

This one will be called Venom Inc. and it'll begin in December with Venom Inc. Alpha #1 (oh dear God, WE ARE back in 90s Marvel aren't we?). Then it'll run thru the Amazing Spider-Man #792-793 and Venom #159-160 then conclude with Venom Inc. Omega #1 (OF COURSE!). The comics will be written both series writers by Dan Slott and Mike Costa with Ryan Stegman doing the art for the Alpha issue. Here's the cover to #1:

The event crossover features former Venom Sasuke Uchiba Lee Price returning and ambushing Mania (the demonic-possessed symbiote who was the sidekick to Flash Thompson's Venom in his ongoing. But considering this is being co-written by Costa. Don't expect this to ever be mentioned) then stealing said symbiote from her christen himself Maniac (And Marvel wonders why it isn't selling comics nowadays). Then he'll cause all sorts of hijinks that will force Spider-Man and Venom to team-up. Flash Thompson will also appear in the event x-over as well.

Here are the covers to Venom #150 and Amazing Spider-Man #792:

Not mentioned, though is Mania creator and current Edge of Venomverse writer Cullen Bunn who is probably weeping in a corner after wanting to use the character in a lot of his Marvel Comics, but was told he couldn't. Almost feels like a dick move from Marvel to do that to the guy. Then again, it seems standard practice to treat a new character like this after being in a low-selling comic originally.

Thankfully, I shall be avoiding this event crossover at all costs. (EDITOR'S NOTE: sd and I talked. You're reviewing the entire event. Also, don't call this comic an event. This is a CROSSOVER! Event is a taboo word at Marvel now).

Fucking hell. Okay, I'm going to be joining Bunn in that corner now.
