Jamie Lee Curtis Returns to Halloween Franchise!

She's come home to hopefully a better movie this time out.

Jamie Lee Curtis is returning to the Halloween franchise again. She's joining John Carpenter (who's executive producing and hopefully scoring) in the latest installment of the Halloween franchise. It was announced today by Blumhouse and Curtis tweeting:

This isn't the first time Curtis returned to the franchise. She came back for the 20th anniversary in Halloween: 20 Years Later (or H20) then was dubiously killed off in the sequel Halloween Resurrection (really the second thing anyone will ever remember from that film. The first being  Busta Rhymeskung-fu fighting Michael Myers would be the second. Surprisingly, nobody ever remembers the fact that it had a pre-Starbuck Katee Sackhoff in the film too).

The interesting bit of news is that we now have an actual release date for the new film, October 19, 2018 (not the originally planned Halloween release-date). As for how Laurie is alive after being killed off in Resurrection? They're ignoring it and H20 (I honestly didn't mind the movie. It just took getting to the final act, which was glorious, the only real challenge). It'll be interesting to see where this one goes if they're only following the first two Halloween movies, which kind of means somehow someway Micheal has to survive getting blown the hell up:

I'm still game. Because A.) The possibility of it being a new John Carpenter score (with a possible assist from Alan Howarth). B.) It isn't that garbage Rob Zombie films (I apologize for making you remember them). C.) If they'll go with Carpenter's original idea for a return to Haddonfield in Halloween 4.  Whatever we get my ass will be in a seat seeing this film.
