Unable To Find Celebrity, San Francisco Giants Has Axel Alonso Throw The First Pitch

The Giants ended up losing the game.

Last Friday, the San Francisco Giants were set to play the Arizona Diamondbacks, when they realized they had overlooked one necessary baseball tradition: the ceremonial throwing of the first pitch. The biggest issue was that every celebrity in the area was in Los Angeles preparing for The Emmy's.

Announcer Mike Krukow put out the word that there was an oversight and no one famous was available to throw out the first pitch, so they would be asking the audience for a lucky audience member. Marvel Editor-In-Chief Axel Alonso was the first one to raise his hand, after stepping in front of his son.

"First hand up guy! Come on down!" said Krukow.

Alonso made his way to the mound with the crowd cheering all around him, thinking to himself, "This is what it must feel like to sell 50,000 copies of a book."

Luckily for Alonso, the pitch went well.

The same can't be said for the Giants, as they lost to the Diamondbacks 2-3.
