Matthew Vaughn has had a pretty solid career in Hollywood, directing movies which include Kick-AssX-Men: First Class, and Kingsman: The Secret Service. The one misstep on his resume comes from a producing credit on 2015's Fantastic Four. Vaughn acknowledges this.

The other one I've felt an obligation to do is, I wouldn't mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film to apologize to everyone out there that maybe it didn't go very well for them. It's brilliant. One of my favorites is the Fantastic Four, so maybe one day I'll try and rectify the mistake.

Vaughn acknowledges critics of the film, which was directed by Josh Trank, going so far as to call it a mistake.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Vaughn's latest directorial effort, is set to release September 22, 2017.
