DC Reveals Plans For Action Comics #1000

We can only imagine it will involve taking the Siegel and Schuster estates back to court.

At DC's Meet The Publishers panel, co-publishers Dan Didio and Jim Lee revealed the company's plans for the milestone issue of Action Comics #1000. Action Comics is the longest-running superhero title in publication, when you avoid all those pesky renumberings.

The commemoration will start with a new hardcover book that celebrates the 80th anniversary of Action Comics. The book will revisit major moments in Action Comics history, like the introduction of Superman, Supergirl, Brainiac, and the Fortress of Solitude.

The book will also include numerous classic Superman stories, as well as literary essays from Pulitzer Prize winner Jules Feiffer and Paul Levitz. It will also include a poster of all 1,000 cover to Action Comics.

Action Comics #1000 itself will be an oversized issue written by Peter Tomasi and Dan Jurgens that will draw on all kinds of talent from the comics industry, including a story written by Geoff Johns and Richard Donner.

Action Comics #1000 is set to release in March 2018.
