'Star Trek: Discovery' Gets A Second Season

We're not sure when.

It took a while to get here, but Star Trek: Discovery finally has taken flight on CBS All Access. It's only been a handful episodes, but it seems like CBS is pleased with the subscriber uptake and feels confident about the show. Confident enough that they are announcing a second season for the show:

Although just six of fifteen episodes have aired, the principal photography on the show is done, so when can we expect the next season?

According to executive producer Alex Kurtzman (before a second season was confirmed), they are in no rush to get a second season out. As for when he hopes it could happen he stated: "Ideally, on the early side of 2019",

Well, we'll see what the CBS suits have to say about that.
