Comic With Two Issues In Six Years To Get Movie Adaptation

The first issue of Nonplayer came out in 2011. The second in 2015.

Nonplayer is known for two things. The first being it's critical acclaim with the release of the first issue in 2011. The second is the massive delay, four years, of the second issue which eventually came out in 2015. Around the time of the second issue's release, writer/artist Nate Simpson took to his blog to explain the reason for the delay which included the death of his mother, the birth of a child, and taking an unsatisfying job to help pay the bills.

At four year intervals between issues, the third issue should arrive around the same time as the movie adaptation. Legendary Entertainment has acquired the rights to the comic, which will be adapted by Eric Pearson, whose credits include co-writer on Thor: Ragnarok and ABC's Marvel's Agent Carter.

The best part of the Deadline article is that it claims that the comic "is said to be in the vein of Guardians of the Galaxy meets The Matrix," but because of its poor release schedule no one knows what its really about. A movie might be a good recap of the first two issues if the third ever even comes out.
