Marvel Announces 'Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors' Animated TV Movie

BuzzFeed exxxclusively announced that Marvel Television is working on a feature-length animated movie titled Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors. Marvel Rising will be part of a "new, multi-platform animated franchise starring the next generation of Marvel heroes" with the movie being preceded by a series of digital shorts. There will be six of these shorts and will star Ghost-Spider, the new name for Spider-Gwen. Both the shorts and movie will debut in 2018.

The cast includes several talent returning to roles they have outside the cartoon. Here are the main characters:

Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan will be voiced by Kathreen Khavari who voiced the character in the Avengers: Ultron Revolution cartoon series.

Miss America/America Chavez will be voiced by Cierra Ramirez.

Squirrel Girl will be voiced by Milana Vayntrub, who will also be playing Squirrel Girl in the live-action New Warriors  series.

Another character, Quake/Daisy Johnson, will also share a voice with her live-action version: Chloe Bennet.

Ghost-Spider/Gwen Stacy will be played by Dove Cameron, who played Spider-Gwen in Ultimate Spider-Man vs. the Sinister 6. Does this mean she is playing Spider-Gwen in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. too?!

Inferno, who in the comics is the InhumanDante Pertuz, is being voiced by Tyler Posey.

Patriot (we're not sure if this is supposed to be Elijah Bradley from the comics) is described as "a young hero who strives to live up Captain America's legacy" is played by Kamil McFadden.

Captain Marvel is being voiced by Kim Raver.

Both Squirrel Girl's partner Tippy Toe and the Inhuman canine Lockjaw will feature the vocal styling of Dee Bradley Baker.

Booboo Stewart is voicing Exile, an Inhuman.

Skai Jackson is playing the role of Gloria "Glory" Grant, Gwen Stacy's friend.

 Steven Weber is voicing Captain George Stacy, Gwen's father and NYPD chief.

Unlike Chloe Bennet, Ming-Na Wen won't be reprising her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. character in the cartoon, rather she'll be the villain Hala. It's unknown if this is the same character as the KreeHala the Accuser from the comics.
