Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman and its upcoming sequel, has big plans for the future of the franchise by taking it in a different direction. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the director said that the sequel will see big changes but similar things as well.
"We're actually making a totally different film with a lot of the same, similar like things that we love, but it's its own movie completely, so it's not 'two' to us," Jenkins said. "It's an entirely new adventure together that we couldn't be luckier [to do]."
Jenkins views Wonder Woman 2 as a separate film, rather than a sequel. She's also attempting to get Lynda Carter, who portrayed Wonder Woman in the 1970s TV show, in the sequel. Not much is known about the film, but it reportedly will take place during the Cold War.
Wonder Woman 2 is set to release November 1, 2019.
