'Rick & Morty' Season 4 May Happen Late-2019?!

Looks like we might have another long wait on our hands for all-new Rick & Morty according to one of the series' writers/prodocers.

It took almost two and a half years for fans to see Rick & Morty Season 3. It was an agonizing wait after the Season 2 cliffhanger. So much so co-creator Dan Harmon apologized for the delay. Then Season 3 came out of nowhere and the world was a better place. Well, it looks like fans of the show will have to wait for another lengthy wait (though being a fan of the Venture Brothers, this sort of thing has become acceptable) maybe 2019 according to one of the show's writers.

Ryan Ridley, a writer and producer for the show was on the Detroit Cast and talked frankly about where Season 4 is at currently:

I'm just shocked that it's taking – we got done writing season 3 in November of last year and here we are 11 months later. And then I know how long the show takes to write, let alone animate, so it's just like, I'd be surprised if there was a fourth season on the air any sooner than 2019 – in late 2019.

To be fair, that would put it just a tiny bit longer than the length of time it took between Seasons 2 and 3.  Of course, this is also not taking into account the utter randomness that this show has given its fans. Like the out of nowhere April Fools Day Season 3 premiere that nobody saw coming (because it came out of nowhere). To be fair, we're still getting product to appease our appetites.Take, for example, all the teasers we got prior to Season 3 release. Or currently, with this fan-made short and now we have this appearance of the two characters (voiced by Justin Roiland) at a New Year's Eve show thanks to Deadmau5.

To be fair though, we still even had a Blu-Ray/DVD release for Season 3 yet. So we do have ways to feed our habit. Plus the Season 3 finale wasn't as maddening as Season 2's.

But if any more news is known or little crumbs are thrown our way we'll let you know.
