David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are no strangers to incest, so they're naturally the perfect duo to contribute to the Star Wars universe. The Game of Thrones creators will write and produce a new series of films separate from the main Skywalker series or Rian Johnson's upcoming trilogy.
"David and Dan are some of the best storytellers working today," Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement. "Their command of complex characters, depth of story and richness of mythology will break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting."
Their involvement with Star Wars puts the future of HBO's Confederate in jeopardy as Benioff and Weiss were both set to serve as writers and showrunners on the controversial show about a South that successfully seceded from the Union.
The Outhouse can EXXXCLUSIVELY reveal that Benioff and Weiss' Star Wars movies will focus on the time between Luke and Leia kissing and discovering they're brother and sister, really digging into the core of the two.
