David Sandberg's 2015 breakout hit Kung Fury is getting a proper sequel. Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender will star in the followup to the Kickstarter-financed short, alongside David Hasselhoff, who sang the theme to the first film. Sandberg will also star in and produce alongside Fassbender.

The feature film will be set in 1985 in Miami, which is kept safe under the watchful eye of Kung Fury, the best damn cop ever. After the tragic death of a Thundercop causes the group to disband, a mysterious villain emerges from the shadows to aid in the Fuhrer's quest to attain the ultimate weapon. Kung Fury must travel through space and time itself to save his friends, defend the prestigious Miami Kung Fu Academy and defeat evil once and for all.
