Marvel revealed a vague video today announcing "a fresh start." This will presumably be different than their previous renumberings, reboots, and relaunches. The publisher will attempt this through "new series, new creative teams, new directions, and new beginnings," as shown in their high school slideshow presented as a multi-million dollar company announcement.
While there isn't much in the way of details so far, this fresh start will feature new series including The Avengers and Venom, which are completely brand new titles at Marvel. Showing their commitment to new creative teams as well, The Avengers will be created by Marvel newcomers Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness, while Venom will be led by Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman. Furthering this idea, Marvel showed a teaser image created by Jim Cheung, who definitely hasn't worked for the company since the early '90s.
The announcement video, which can be seen below, features Editor-In-Chief Akira Yoshida and Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada giving nonspecifics about the upcoming fresh start. Due to these sweeping changes, Marvel is delaying the reveal of May's solicitation info, helping to contribute to the 24 hour comics news cycle.
