Valiant's New Chinese Overlords Are Already Pushing Their Socialist Agenda With New Mini-Series

The Life and Death of Toyo Harada is a six-part mini-series about socialism.

Revealed last month, Valiant Entertainment was purchased by the China-based firm DMG Entertainment. The transition hasn't been smooth as Chief Creative Officer and CEO Dinesh Shamdasani, Chairman Peter Cuneo, and CFO Gavin Cuneo were all dismissed. Eric Heisserer also stopped writing for the publisher the day of the transition.

With the announcement of The Life and Death of Toyo Harada, it seems DMG Entertainment is having Valiant Entertainment further its socialist-based agenda. Socialism with Chinese characteristics, meaning Marxism–Leninism adapted to Chinese conditions, is the official ideology of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Valiant Editor-In-Chief Warren Simons spoke to Vulture about Toyo Harada's agenda in the six-issue mini-series.

"He's essentially a socialist living at the height of capitalism. He's a socialist with a cause. He's going to bring peace to humanity by any means necessary other than war."

The mini-series will be written by socialist sympathizer Joshua Dysart and drawn by a rotating cast of including Lewis LaRosa, Adam Pollina, and Mico Suayan because six issues is too many for any single artist.

The Life and Death of Toyo Harada is set to release in 2019, which is apparently not enough lead time for one artist either.
