Marvel Had Strict Rules For This Year's ComicsPro Attendants

Didn't want any of that positivity leaking to the press.

The 12th annual ComicsPro took place last week in Portland. The point of the event is  to help to develop better marketing and daily business practices for comic book retailers,to improve the condition of their industry by educating the public about comic books in general, and to provide a voice for independent comic book retailers. In a nutshell, it's to get retailers all on the same page in regards to publisher.

Press isn't allowed at ComicsPro, but some information has started leaking out, in no small part thanks to Fantom Comics' Jake Shapiro, who told the world about Marvel's heightened security.

God forbid anyone reveal any positivity about Marvel from the event, but given Marvel's hostile attitude, it's likely there wasn't much of any.

While DC did take questions from retailers, it's likely that Marvel didn't so as to not get a repeat of last year's Retailers Only Panel from NYCC, where the room started to turn on itself.

Marvel's "fresh start" is set to launch later this year.
