'Death of Superman' Voice Cast Revealed!!

The second attempt Warner Bros. animation has in adapting the mega event reveals it'll be taking place in their "New 52" animated universe.

Since it was first announced, news of the second Death/Return of Superman animated adaptation (which would be split up into two films instead of just one mashed film like the original 2007 attempt at adapting the 90s story. Said 90s story that told the death and later return of Superman, while also showcasing the four would-be Supermen who tried to fill his spot) has been nill. Until that is as the voice cast was announced today (via TV Insider).

The first bit of news is that given the voice cast the adaptation will take place in the "New 52" animated universe that began with 2014's Justice League: War. That said, Jerry O'Connell will be reprising his role of Superman for the movie. Also, Rosario Dawson, Jason O'MaraNathan FillionMatt Lanter, Shemar Moore, and Christopher Gorham will be reprising their roles of Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Cyborg, and the Flash.

Rounding out the cast will be Rebecca Romijn who will voice Superman's wife Lois Lane (So I guess that Wonder Woman romance subplot that also was going on here is being dropped here as well), Rainn Wilson as Lex Luthor, Rocky Carroll as Cyborg's father, and Patrick Fabian as Hank Henshaw.

Wait, that means-- okay maybe this movie won't be so bad after all. Still, it looks like more "liberties" will be taken with this adaptation since Cyborg, this version of the Justice League (aka the New 52 version), connecting the origins of the Cyborg Superman (SPOILER aka the villain of the second half) and no Supergirl.

Death of Superman will be out summer on Digital, Blu-Ray, and DVD (aka will more than likely premiere at SDCC this year). The sequel Reign of Supermen will be out early 2019 (aka probably early February).
