Not so fast there, Disney. Another company has thrown its name into the ring to purchase Fox: Comcast. The media conglomerate is offering $60 billion cash for Fox's assets, which they've already agreed to sell to Disney for $52 billion in stock.
Comcast Chief Executive Officer Brian Roberts only plans to proceed with the bid if a federal judge allows AT&T's planned $85 billion acquisition of Time Warner to proceed. The Department of Justice recently sued to block the deal on the basis that it will raise prices for consumers and competitors.
We'll see if that extra $8 billion is enough to keep the Fantastic Four and the X-Men from coming home to Marvel.
