Hollywood has come knocking for Pornsak Pichetshote and Aaron Campbell and their new Image mini-series Infidel. The adaptation will be produced by Michael Sugar, Oscar-winning producer on Spotlight and executive producer on 13 Reasons Why.
Infidel focuses on an American Muslim woman and her multiracial neighbors, who find themselves living in a building haunted by strange creatures that seemingly feed on xenophobia. The deal comes two issues into the mini-series' five issue run, with Hollywood trying to recapture the magic of Get Out, with another blend of racial themes and horror.
"Audiences are responding to fresh, timely stories that, like Infidel, can resonate through the current state of our culture," said TriStar senior vp Nicole Brown, who will oversee the project with Nick Krishnamurthy, in a statement. "Infidel has those provocative elements to create a touchstone thriller."
Infidel #3 is set to release next week on May 16.
