It looks like "The End" is not really the end of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. ABC has (probably reluctantly) announced today that the agents will be returning for a sixth season. After ABC finger-snapped the Inhumans TV series and was silent about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., it did leave fans wondering if the series would return (the season finale's title and that Coulson would make the leap back into the movies didn't make fans feel better either), but it apparently will.
No further details have been revealed about the sixth season of the series, but there is still one more episode of the fifth season left this Friday. So you can watch "The End" on Friday knowing it isn't really the end of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
It looks like season six will be s shorter season (does that mean six is the final season?): 13 episodes instead of the normal 22.
UPDATE 2 (05/15/18):
Rather than debuting in the Fall like previous seasons, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be debuting in Summer of 2019. Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to be a result of what is going on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, according to ABC president Channing Dungey:
"Whatever they [at Marvel Studios] have planned, I cannot say."
