Marvel Soft Announces New Wolverine Series

The marketing team really dropped the ball here.

Buried in Marvel Comics' August 2018 solicitations was a one-shot titled Hunt For Wolverine: Dead Ends #1. That solicit mentions a new Wolverine series starting in September.

Usually something of this nature is hammered into the public conscious. Marvel normally reaches out to their unofficial PR wings Valnet Inc. Presents Comic Book Resources and A for fluff interviews with creators where they just touch on talking points. They might make an announcement on a daytime talk show such as The View or take out ad space on a gossip website like Uncle Rich's Rumor Rag. They'd never bury an announcement in a solicit.

Or would they? Is Marvel resorting to guerrilla marketing tactics since Ike Perlmutter donated their marketing budget to Trump? The world may never know, but they've succeeded in making us talk about it.

The solicit info for Hunt For Wolverine: Dead Ends #1 is below. Expect Charles Soule on next month's announcement of Wolverine #1 alongside a ton of artists who can't hit their deadlines.
