Whelp! Looks like grammatical errors can make a difference! For now, the official name for the Godzilla 2014 sequel is now fully set in stone now: Godzilla: King of THE Monsters, originally it was to be just Godzilla: King of Monsters. But it seems Legendary Pictures/Warner Bros. took note of the numerous snafu's many made on it (did I make that error too? Of course I did. Like, literally looking at every article I've made has that error. So wait is this all my fault? .. Suck it Lord Simian. I helped better my God's sequel, while your's is still just Kong) and decided, "Eh fuck it. Let's just call it that." No quite they actually did do that.
In a press release yesterday via Toho Kingdom, Warner Bros. had this to say:
Ever since the sequel to Godzilla 2014's film was announced, it has had multiple names ever since. When it was formally announced, it was "Godzilla King of Monsters". The "the" was left out, from what I'm told, due to a typo. It was later corrected but it was still just a working title. Fans and media outlets did pick up on the name though and the "Godzilla King of the Monsters" name stuck. However, internally there still was no cemented official title. For example, on Warner Brothers' own media pass page (press only), it was only listed as "Godzilla Sequel".
So, today, as an exclusive reveal via Warner Brothers, Toho Kingdom is happy to announce the official title is: Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
But that isn't all the Godzilla: King of the Monsters news for today! Also yesterday the film's director Mike Dougherty tweeted this:
Damn that Monster Zero weather pattern! Dammit, all to hell!!! Godzilla: King of THE Monsters will begin its cinematic reign on March 22, 2019.
