Clearly concerned about the Australian football demographic, Disney has bought the naming rights to Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia and will rename it Marvel Stadium. The agreement will last eight years.
Melbourne Stadiums Limited CEO Michael Green said the stadium will not "shove things down people's throats," allaying fears that the focus will move from the punters to Marvel branding.
Contrasting his point, the stadium will open a Marvel retail store and see more street art and interactive, technological installations when they walk in. Green went on to say, "People will notice immediately from the first of September it is very much branded Marvel."
If you find yourself in Melbourne starting in September, be sure to catch a game of footy and see Iron Man.
