Jeremy Renner will be joining Jamie Foxx in Todd McFarlane's Spawn reboot film. Renner will be playing detective Maximilion Steven Percival Williams III, more commonly known as Twitch Williams. Twitch appeared first in the Spawn comics and later in Sam and Twitch series.

McFarlane has stated previously that although Spawn is the title character, like a horror film, he won't appear that much, making Twitch more of the lead in the film. Don't think that that will give Renner too much respect after his absence in Infinity War:
"… I knew the person on screen the most is this police officer, Twitch Williams. We needed as strong a person as possible because he will be the face of the film. I took my naïve Hollywood approach again, and said let's start at the top and work down. Jeremy was at the top. I'm a huge fan of his. The character doesn't need to be a bodybuilder or GQ handsome."
McFarlane also describes Williams' relationship to Spawn:
"Spawn is King Arthur and Twitch is Sir Lancelot, and this isn't about physicality, or jumping over buildings" … "This is more a brawn and brain combination"
No release date has been announced for the Spawn reboot. Filming is expected to start this year.
