Now that Rob Liefeld has had a taste of Hollywood, there's no going back for him. His latest comic creation from the '90s to be optioned for a movie is Prophet, in collaboration with Studio 8, the production company behind such films as Alpha, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, and White Boy Rick.
John Prophet is a DNA-enhanced super soldier from the World War II era who awakens in our time after being put in cryogenic freeze for a future mission. Unfortunately, he was not supposed to wake until years down the road, making Prophet a fish out of water, spending his time in search of a mission that does not exist.
Prophet was introduced in 1993 in Youngblood before spinning out into his own series. The series was relaunched in 2012 by Brandon Graham and Simon Roy throwing Prophet into the far-future but the film will focus on his time in the '90s, so Liefeld can take full credit for the film.
