William Gibson's Unused Alien 3 Movie Script Being Recycled Into Comic

It's the Alien story "you always wanted!"

Ask anyone and they'll most certainly agree that Alien 3 was definitely a movie. The 1992 film was directed by David Fincher and written by David Giler, Walter Hill, and Larry Ferguson. It currently holds a 47% on Rotten Tomatoes.

But before it hit movie theaters, the script got an early pass from William GibsonDark Horse has announced a new five issue mini-series based on Gibson's original treatment.

Following the deadly events of Aliens, the Union of Progressive Peoples intercepts the spaceship carrying the hibernating bodies of Ripley, Hicks, Newt, and Bishop. But unbeknownst to them, they have also picked up another deadly passenger whose discovery will unleash a race between two governments to weaponize the xenomorph in this horrifying and poignant Cold War-themed thriller.

Written by Gibson, the mini-series will have art by Johnnie Christmas and colors by Tamra Bonvillain. Ensuring the mini will sell well, Dark Horse has ordered variant covers from James Harren, Daniel Warren Johnson, Paolo Rivera, Tradd Moore, and Christian Ward.

William Gibson's Aliens 3 #1 is set to release November 7, 2018.
