The Wrap today revealed the cast line-up for the Birds of Prey movie scheduled for 2020. The cast will include Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie reprising her role from Suicide Squad), Black Canary (Dinah Lance), Huntress (Helena Bertinelli), Renee Montoya, and Cassandra Cain.

Yes, the Batgirl in this movie or representation of the Bat will be Cassandra Cain, the often limboed Batgirl who's reattaining the momentum that was taken from currently in DC Comics thanks to "Rebirth" event (also known as Black Bat and currently going around as Orphan). This literally leaves me astonished and-- speechless to talk further on it. I'm honestly in a whirlwind of emotions right now).

Not only are we getting Cassandra in this movie but another minority character in Renee Montoya who prior to the New 52 had an excellent run as the Question (another astonishing reveal because this character also has been in limbo since the New 52). The character has shown up in Detective Comics in a supporting role (and was put back to her Gotham Cop status). So will we be getting that version of her?

So when Margot Robbie said a few weeks ago we'd be getting minority representation in this movie- she wasn't kidding.

The villain for the movie will also be a Batman villain who hasn't been given a big screenshot yet. So Joker, Bane, Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, Ra's Al Ghul, Talia, Penguin, Riddler, and Two-Face are out. So who's in? Well, if Cassandra Cain is in this film then very likely her father, master assassin David Cain will be in this too. But who else? Black Mask? Mad Hatter? Professor Pyg? Killer Moth? LORD DEATH MAN?!

We still don't know who's Harley gang of fiends will be (but it stands to reason that reveal might happen this weekend at SDCC). Curiously though this kind of leaves out Barbara Gordon (the second Batgirl, and currently in comics parading around in the costume) and the Batgirl movie which is still in development.  If Cassandra is getting introduced in this movie, does that mean she becomes Batgirl in that one?

So many questions. So many answers to wait for. Until then, we shall wait till we get them.
