A week after Stan Lee dropped a $1 billion lawsuit against POW! Entertainment alleging they took advantage of him to get him to hand over the rights to his likeness, Lee has announced the worst thing to happen to him all year: a new comic.
Stan Lee's Work Force is a new superhero workplace comedy webcomic starring Lee, which will have new chapters releasing twice a week. The story revolves around superheroes managed by Lee, working in an office setting, dealing with problems ranging from a sentient copy machine to monster attacks.
And what was the reasoning behind this original genius idea? A love of Stan Lee? Bringing joy to children around the world? Well, no. To maximize profits as much as possible according to Shane Duffy, CEO, Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment.
"This project provides an opportunity to create an original and on-going story for multiple platforms in different languages appealing across all cultural markets. Following the release in the U.S. and China markets, we look to expand to additional territories."
The first chapter of Stan Lee's Work Force is available Tuesday, July 17.
