Shuri, the Black Panther's (T'Challa) half-sister and princess of Wakanda, became one of the breakout stars of this year's Black Panther movie where she was played by Letitia Wright. The character was introduced in the Marvel-616 comics universe during Reginald Hudlin's Black Panther run and was probably most known for taking the Black Panther mantle when T'Challa was injured before her movie fame. The success of her character makes it no surprise that the character will getting her own series (it's looking like movie inspired the look of the upcoming comic).

With the king of Wakanda on a mission in space, it looks like Shuri may have to help out her brother again. The Panther is Lost In Space and Wakanda is now without a leader, will she take that role?

Shuri is happiest in a lab, surrounded by gadgets of her own creation. She'd rather be testing gauntlets than throwing them. But a nation without a leader is a vulnerable one — and Shuri may have to choose between Wakanda's welfare and her own.

The series will be written by Nnedi Okorafor (Black Panther: Long Live the King) with art by Leonardo Romero (Hawkeye). Shuri starts the job in October.
