Yes, San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) was over a week ago but sometimes things just slip through the cracks. This time, it was the announcement of a whole bunch of new Star Wars comics. You must forgive us though, since these comics were not put out by IDW (who is not owned by Disney), but by Marvel (who is owned by Disney).
Yes, while the new IDW Star Wars title announced at SDCC was given a spotlight at starwars.com, these Marvel titles were sort of buried in general coverage of the Lucasfilm Publishing panel during the con. Among the tons of childrens, young adult, adult, and non-fiction book titles announced at the panel, was the introduction of some new titles from Marvel (along with the note that the Star Wars Poe Dameron comic ending with issue #31).
First up is the comic adaptation of the recent movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story. This is a five-issue mini-series written by Robbie Thompson with art by Will Sliney.

Description: A new five-issue mini-series featuring backstory and scenes not shown in the film! After leaving the Imperial Navy, a young Han Solo seeks adventure by joining a gang of galactic mercenaries—including a 196-year-old Wookiee named Chewbacca and a notorious gambler named Lando Calrissian. But there's more to the story of the galaxy's most beloved scoundrel than what you saw in theaters. What happened when Han was an Imperial cadet? Why does Beckett trust him? And what is the connection between the woman who stole Han's heart and one of Han's closest friends?
Michael Siglain on why Marvel's comic adaption is a must-read: "Read this one closely, because you don't know where this one is going to head to and connect to in the future."
