DC Comics has announced a digital-first comic titled Death of Superman, to tie into the animated film Death of Superman, itself based on the '90s comic book series Death of Superman. The new comic is written by original series co-writer Louise Simonson, penciled and inked by Cat Staggs, and colored by Wendy Broome.

Story: The Death of Superman was one of the biggest moment in the history of comics. Revisit the story that rocked the entired world with the last stand of Earth's mightiest champion in this thrilling brand new mini series!

"Power" Part 1! How did Superman miss the beginning of Doomsday's rampage? Well, first, he had to save Lois Lane's father from his own folly.

The Death of Superman #1 is out today for $0.99. A print collection of the series is set to release in 2019. The animated Death of Superman movie, featuring the voices of Jerry O'Connell as Superman and Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane, is out now digitally and will be released on Blu-ray August 7.
