It's been a week since the cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy issued that joint statement in support to rehire director James Gunn after he was fired for a decade-old tweet by Disney. And it pretty much looks like they're standing with that judgment even with all outreaching support from other celebrities and fans wanting them to reverse the decision.
So, it isn't surprising the man who started it all, Dave Bautista has unloaded a few salvos at the House of Mouse in just one tweet yesterday.
I will do what Im legally obligated to do but @Guardians without @JamesGunn is not what I signed up for. GOTG w/o @JamesGunn just isn’t GOTG. Its also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis . That’s just how I feel https://t.co/Ym4FwruVDu— Dave Bautista (@DaveBautista) August 5, 2018
Now, this isn't the first time an actor has said this working on a Marvel movie has been like this. A few years back actor Idris Elba said basically the same thing. Of course, Elba stayed on the Marvel movie contract and did two more movies. Will Bautista do the same? I guess time will tell in this latest chapter to this ongoing saga.
