Marvel Entertainment chairman and Trump inner circle member Ike Perlmutter has been named in a NYPD bribery trial. The report alleges that Perlmutter's assistant worked with a police officer to renew her boss' gun license permit.
Former NYPD sergeant David Villanueva, who worked in the License Division, testified under oath that he helped get Perlmutter's permit renewed in exchange for tickets to a number of Marvel movie premieres. Villanueva didn't state that he worked with Perlmutter directly, but instead his assistant Marisol Garcia.
The details came to light as part of a much larger bribery scandal Villanueva was involved in during his time with the NYPD between 2005 and 2016. Villanueva testified that he ensured multiple gun application permits were expedited in exchange for various bribes.
Villanueva attended six Marvel movie premieres before being fired from the NYPD in 2016.
