According to The Wrap, DC and Warner Bros. are developing a film featuring the third DC Blue Beetle, Jaime Reyes. Writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer will be writing the screenplay for the movie, with Zev Foreman executive producing.

In the comics, teenager Jaime Reyes found the Scarab once owned by the original Blue Beetle, Dan Garrett. The Scarab bonded with Reyes, giving him a powerful buggy set of armor/exoskeleton. The Blue Beetle film is said to be the first movie from WB/DC to star a Latino character/actor as a solo lead.

No release date has been announced for Blue Beetle.
