Marvel (exxxclusive) writer Chip Zdarsky, who left the most recent Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man title earlier this year with issue #310, is returning to write the character next year. The title is a "high-end" 6-issue limited series titled Spider-Man: Life Story.
Life Story will follow Spider-Man through the decades, with historical events in the background, as he ages. The first issue has the webslinger in 1966 when the Vietnam War was still being fought. Zdarsky explains the idea behind the series:
"This is an idea I've had since I first started working for Marvel, something that explores the characters and the Marvel universe on a deeper level, where time changes both the characters and the world."
Zdarsky will be joined by artist Mark Bagley, and the writer is of course pleased by that:
"Being able to span decades with one of the most iconic Spider-Man artists ever, Mark Bagley, is surreal. He's creating fresh takes on classic characters and moments in really dynamic ways."
Spider-Man: Life Story #1, part of Marvel's 80th anniversary celebration, will land in March, 2019.
