The first issue of Zenescope's latest Alice mini-series has gone back to press.
Zenescope Entertainment is reporting that the #1 issue of new comic book title Alice in Wonderland has sold out through Diamond Comic Distributors. Further, the #1 issue has sold through the 19,000 initial printing on the first day of its release. At this time there are no plans to do a second printing of the book but Zenescope has made the comic book available for digital download immediately through the Comixology and Zenescope Apps and can be purchased there.
Zenescope's Alice in Wonderland is a new mini-series featuring Alice Liddle as she journeys through the insanity-filled realm of Wonderland. Zenescope first visited the mythology of Alice 's Adventures in Wonderland back in 2007 with the breakout hit Return To Wonderland. The indie comic book publisher has since released multiple mini-series that re-imagine Lewis Carroll's classic story as a present day horror and fantasy tale.
"To sell out of a large print run this quickly is stunning." said Zenescope Editor-in-Chief Ralph Tedesco. "It's a great feeling to have such a loyal and continually growing fan base that responds so well to our re-imagining of Wonderland. The good news is that there's more of it to come."
"We've been planning to tell this story for a long time and it seems that our fans have been patiently waiting for it. It's awesome to see this kind of response", says series writer Raven Gregory.
Zenescope's Alice in Wonderland is being written by Raven Gregory and features interior artwork and coloring by Robert Gill and Jason Embury. This first issue features cover art by Artgerm, Ebas, and Nei Ruffino. The first issue has also been released digitally on the same day as the printed version and is available through the Zenescope and Comixology Apps.
Zenescope Entertainment was founded by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco in 2005 and has quickly grown into one of the top comic book and graphic novel publishing companies in the world. Zenescope's Grimm Fairy Tales and subsequent spinoff series such as Escape From Wonderland, Neverland and The Piper, which put a dark twist on classic fables, are some of the best-selling and longest running original independent comic books on shelves today. Zenescope's licensed titles include the on-going, critically acclaimed Charmed series, based off of the long-running popular television series, as well as Se7en and Final Destination, based off of New Line Cinema's successful film franchises.
