Tom Brevoort (the Hat) hosts this panel, similar in vein to the Cup O' Joe Panels from conventions past. Jeph Loeb, Mark Waid, and Arune Singh join Brevoort for this panel with a pair of news stories (Catain Marvel! X-Treme X-Men!) and a bunch of Q&A.
The panel started with a bang with the announcement of the new Captain Marvel title. Captain Marvel #1 arrives in July 2012 and is by Kelly Sue DeConnick with art by Dexter Soy. Ed McGuinness will be handling cover duties. Carol Danvers takes the mantle of Captain Marvel. There are hints of a new or different power set for the character.
News didn't stop there. X-Treme X-Men #1 also debuts in July 2012 written by Greg pak with art by Steven Segovia and covers by Julian Totino. Dazzler will be at the center of this series along with a team of mutants from various worlds in reality-bending missions.
After those quick bits of news, the panel turned into a Q&A session.
Loeb was asked about various television subjects. He mentioned the Hulk TV show still being in development along with a Punisher show and the AKA Jessica Jones show. He also said it's possible there will be a Deadpool animated project.
Singh mentioned that he wants to see Force Works back.
Queried about his collaborations with Tim Sale, Loeb answered that he was still working on Captain America White, hoping to have it done by the time that Captain America 2 is in the theaters.
A fan asked about seeing more Shang-Chi to which Brevoort answered that there are plans coming up for the character towards the end of the year when he'll be at the center of some things.
On Marvel Cosmic, Thanos will make an appearance in the next six months. There are also plans for the Guardians of the Galaxy.
There are no plans for Exiles in the near future, but they also said X-Treme X-Men should help to "scratch that itch". Winter Soldier will not be in Secret Avengers soon, nor will he be in AVX.
